PROPGOLD is a two-coat system comprising an anti-corrosive Primer Coat and a Foul Release Coating (Clear Coat). The Clear Coat is a non-biocidal, low energy coating, which prevents organisms strongly adhering to the surface of the propeller and fast moving components directly exposed to water. Organisms can be easily dislodged once the boat is placed in drive. As with all foul release coatings, when not in use, the surface will be colonized by encrusting organisms. The removal of the fouling organisms is purely a mechanical effect.

PROPGOLD is suitable for application to all underwater metallic running gear.

Marlin Step
Mr Temby recently bough his new boat from USA and needed to modify it for his purposes. His request was to remove the auxilary outboard bracket and add a marlin step and ladder to make it easier to get onto the boat whilst swimming and snorkelling. Cobalt Blue Marine removed the aux bracket and repaired the holes additionally maching the gelcoat colour, we then custom made the step and fabricated the stainless steel supports to suit. The ladder was then added, sourced from our chandlery suppliers.

Anchor Windlass
Local recreational fisherman Mr Lacra recently contacted Cobalt Blue Marine, to see if it was possible to fit an anchor windlass to his boat. After an inspection of his boat and some research on what would be that best application we opted for a pro series 700 wait windlass, which ahas the motor and housing mounted on deck. His access hatch was beefed up and fibrglassed closed and detailed into the rest of the boat. He also upgraded his anchor to an Australian made "SARCA" which has more holding power then any other anchor on the market, reef and sand. Another very happy customer.

The Regal
This client recently bought the Regal from an importer. Nice boat from USA, lovely two tone gelcoat colour. The client inadvertently scratched the side of the vessel through the Regal lettering. With the help of C.G.P Composites Cobalt Blue Marine was able to colour match the gelcoat for the repair. As with all gelcoats the U.V. Sunlight attacks the colour, and it is necessary to reapply the gelcoat to the entire side of the boat. Once this has been done then the labour intensive blocking back by hand through the grades to sand out the orange peel and then all the scratches from subsequent grades till we get to 1200 grade. The out with the buffer and polism. Another happy customer, paid $500 excess and the insurance company paid the rest. Insurance its worth it.

Trailer Sailor
Mr Lee asked if it was possible to build a hardtop for his 28ft trailer sailor as he was over sailing and wanted a more user friendly cruiser/camper without all the rigging.

He sketched up a drawing of what he was after and the rest was left up to Cobalt Blue Marine.

Pacemaker
CBM is currently working on a 21 ft Pacemaker. The sub floor and deck are in a poor state due to rot. The owner has had the boat repowered and subsequently noticed flexing and cracks starting to appear under the hull. The repair involves removing all the rotton timber and expanded foam, rebuilding the boat "Cray Boat" style. Foam frames fully fibreglassed. No expanding foam as it holds water when wet. Limber holes to drain into the bilge. 12mm ply Deck fibreglass both sides. Then a fibreglass repair underneath outside on the hull.

Once all this work was completed, the boat was sanded back, primed and 2-pac painted. The floor has had non-skid paint applied as well as the foredeck and sides.
